The Lady Ironmen start their three game road trip at Maple Heights in a non conference battle to continue their winning streak.
At the start of the game, the Lady Ironmen started out flat with a seven point quarter and a lack of energy towards the defensive end. They had unforced turnovers and allowed Maple to have a 15 point quarter. In the second quarter, they flipped the switch. The Lady Ironmen locked in on defense and were able to move the ball efficiently to grab the lead before halftime with the score of 26 to 22.
The more of the same happened as the Lady Ironmen were up by 20 in the third quarter and finished the game with a 14 point lead as Central went on to win 68 to 54.
Four players scored in double digits in this contest. Senior, Chantel Barnett led the way with 20 points, Seniors Phylicia Jackson & Anaysia Langford followed up with 15 and 13 points, and Freshman, Hazel Seyou added in 10.
The wins are building up for the Lady Ironmen (11 – 4) and this win stretches their winning streak to six. Their next game is at Villa Angela Saint Joseph in a conference game, January 18th at 12pm.
